Feeling that first baby kick…

With your first baby you think that every little twinge or gurgle of gas could be a baby movement that you are feeling, but with subsequent pregnancies you know exactly when you feel that very first kick. Last night I had been sleeping on my back and awoke about 4 am with a stiff and…

Week 16 and counting…

Week 16 comes with no morning sickness, renewed energy, and feelings of serenity and happiness.  This is certainly a lovely change from waking in the morning feeling sickly, spending the entire day wishing I could climb back into bed, and not being able to stay awake past 8pm!  My children are certainly appreciating the changes as well,…

Mother’s Day Angst!

It might come as a surprise but I am not really a fan of Mother’s Day.  I know this is probably a terrible thing to say and most people will not understand how anyone could possibly feel this way but for me there is a certain untruthfulness to celebrating this day. I’ve put on one…

Telling my parents, religion & India

Telling my parents I am pregnant is kind of a big deal.  They are church going Catholic’s and my worry is that if for any reason the doctors told me not to proceed with the pregnancy I am not sure how they would feel about this.
The funny thing was the previous week when I was visiting with them they were telling me about a documentary they had watched on china and the now two child policy and how women in their late forties were now all rushing to have another child, they laughed at this, thinking it so absurd.

High Risk Specialist

The high risk specialist appointment came with another ultrasound to check exactly where the placenta was sitting; anterior or posterior, and also to check my cervix length and the condition of my previous C-section scar.
